feeling weird about being photographed is completely normal

Not because there is anything at all wrong with wanting beautiful photos of yourself and your loved ones. It is weird because we live in a world that insists we shrink and conform. This is exactly why I work the way I do: centering connection, compassion, and authenticity and rejecting the idea that conformity is beauty.

We’ll figure it out together.

So let’s just call it what it is and move through it together. You don’t need to show up knowing what to do with your hands or how to look. I’ll guide and hype and adapt so you can unclench, be present, and actually enjoy yourself.

“As soon as we’re with Julia, I sort of forget about my insecurities. She makes the space feel so natural that those kinds of thoughts disappear because I know she’s going to photograph me and my family in our element… and then every time I get my photos, I see myself as a beautiful person.

what’s it like to work with Julia Ellie Photo?

My partner and I booked Julia for a winter engagement shoot pretty last-minute. She was so responsive and curious throughout the booking process, and we felt like she was as excited for our shoot as we were. On the day of the session (the first time we met her), we became quick friends. Julia was encouraging, respectful, and understanding of our authentic selves -- she didn't try to get us to pose or act in any sort of manufactured way, just sort of walked through the woods with us and took pictures of us being ourselves.

Being a queer couple wedding planning in central PA, we so appreciate Julia's transparent inclusivity. Looking at her social media, previous photos, and website, we saw people who looked like us (gender, sexuality, body types, etc.). We never questioned whether Julia would accept and respect us fully. We can't wait for Julia to photograph our wedding next year
