Nicole & Coire’s Cozy Winter Wedding at the Wilburton Inn in Manchester, Vermont
Some weddings feel like events. Nicole and Coire’s wedding felt like a community gathering.
In late February, 55 of their closest people traveled to the Wilburton Inn in Manchester, Vermont for a winter wedding weekend that was equal parts cozy, joyful, and beautifully community-centered. Snow still covered the ground and the Taconic mountains surrounding Manchester make the whole place feel privately tucked away.
The whole weekend was designed around spending real time with the people they love. Guests arrived the night before for a welcome party where everyone wore their favorite sweater. There were vegan and gluten free snacks, a beautiful berry crisp, and records spinning on a turntable while friends and family connected with each other. Many of the guests stayed on site at the inn, which meant the entire weekend unfolded together -- meals, walks in the snow, and time outside.
The ceremony took place in the mansion’s living room with everyone gathered close together. Coire’s sister officiated, and a family friend played piano. The two of them and their loved ones walked down the aisle to a cozy spot in front of a fireplace decorated with lush winter florals by Tara Pollio. Purple tulips, greenery, tall candles, and soft green ribbons added to the already-beautiful ambiance around the mansion.
Nicole wore an Augustine gown by Lola Varma, and Coire chose a tweed suit from Spier & Mackay. All of the jewelry Nicole wore that day was either borrowed or inherited from grandparents.
Meals were prepared by Earth Sky Time Farm, with a menu that was gluten free and largely vegan so that loved ones with allergies could fully enjoy the meal. Like everything else about the weekend, the food felt thoughtful and welcoming.
During cocktail hour, Nicole and Coire slipped away for a minutes together outside. The February sunset over the snowy hills around Manchester was one of those Vermont winter evenings where the light turns soft and golden just before disappearing. They even clipped into their cross-country skis for a few photos before heading back inside to celebrate with everyone.
From the candlelit dinner to the music and dancing that filled the mansion’s sunroom and billiard room, the entire day reflected what Nicole and Coire said they wanted most: genuine moments of joy and connection with the people who matter to them.
Their wedding was a reminder that intimate winter weddings in Vermont don’t have to feel small. When a group of people gathers with intention, warmth, and a lot of love, the result is something that feels expansive.
